One-to-one English for professionals and academics

I teach online, one to one, to people who are serious about their English — professionals, researchers, postgraduate students, and committed learners. After 35 years of teaching, I know how to take someone from good English to genuinely confident, accurate, fluent English.

Who my classes are for

My classes are designed for students at B2 level and above, working towards C1 and C2. Reaching B2 already shows you can study; from there, focused work makes the difference between competent and excellent.

This isn't the right fit for absolute beginners, or for students who'd rather not put the work in. It is the right fit if you want a teacher who takes your progress seriously — and who makes the process enjoyable rather than a chore.

Every lesson draws on my experience editing hundreds of research papers and academic books — you'll improve not just your English, but the way you communicate in real academic and professional situations.

Every session is tailored entirely to your real needs. I review your written work, presentations, or notes beforehand, ensuring our face-to-face time focuses purely on active practice and refinement.

Each lesson may include:

Payment monthly, in advance, to confirm your place for the month. All materials included.
